Well we knew it would happen sooner or later but Ella figured out that she can cover a lot of territory by rolling around. When I put her down on her blanket there is no guaranteeing where she might end up within seconds. She is quite tickled with her new found independance.

There is no denying it now . . Ella LOVES the camera. All decked out in her Christmas outfit from Grandma Lois she wows the camera with her incredible standing poses! For the last couple of weeks she has been entertaining us with her Ella stance. It was too cute to resist shooting some pictures when she was all dolled up. This has even led to me having dreams(more like nightmares . .) of her dancing around our living room at 11 weeks old. As cute as it sounds it was actually quite disturbing!

The arrival of Ella Marie McCulloch - Sept 16/07

The long awaited Ella arrived Sept 16/07 at 4:40pm. After 4 years of struggles it was erased in a moment when Ella was put in my arms, bright eyed and beautiful! Some things are worth the wait. I am still feeling overwhelmed with our good fortune as I enjoyed a very healthy pregnancy and as labours go, it all went according to plan. While it was long and drawn out over a couple days with a bit of a false start we persevered through the fatigue and had a natural birth. We had our Doula Sam, a great team of nurses, and a doctor that was a Saint. After spending Friday night and most of Saturday in the hospital I chose not to go for an induction although it was tempting. We packed up and went home Saturday afternoon feeling pretty deflated as we thought we would finally be coming home with a baby. As time went on my contractions pretty much disappeared and I announced that nothing was going to happen and we might as well go to bed and stop speculating. I woke up 2 hours later with a real pang and my water was breaking. That was when the REAL labour started. The experts are right when they say " you will know". When the monitors showed contractions coming 4 minutes apart the night before and I could hardly feel them I thought I must have the incredible pain tolerance in the world and Jeff was even more impressed as he watched the monitors and I laid there calmly reading a book. Anyway yadayadaya . . I will spare all the details . . 16 hours later Ella arrived in the world. The first week has gone very well. We have had lots of visitors and food dropped off our door(literally!) and Ella has even had quality time with all of her 7 great grandpa's and grandma's and of course her very ecstatic grandparents. So that brings us to now and we are just figuring things out day to day up here On Windy Hill. Check in for monthly updates and pictures!
